Dispute management for DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub

We review every error charge daily and prepare the disputes for you to submit. Before anything goes in, we check with your location manager on what actually happened, so you only dispute the charges you can win. For the restaurants we manage, that recovers $200 to $1,200+ per location a month, depending on volume.

It’s for owners and operators who know chargebacks are leaking money but don’t have anyone checking the apps every day. It comes with every Blender Digital plan.

WHY IT MATTERS

Why do error charges add up so fast?

An error charge is money the app takes back when a customer reports a missing, wrong or poor-quality item. DoorDash can charge 25% to 100% of the item price plus tax, straight out of your payout. Uber Eats does the same through “Issue charged” lines on your orders.

Each one is small, which is why nobody looks. But a few charges a week on every app adds up to hundreds of dollars a month per store, and it comes straight out of what you get paid.

A lot of those charges aren’t the kitchen’s fault. A courier grabs the wrong bag or delivers late. DoorDash itself calls late deliveries and temperature issues situations outside your control. If nobody checks inside the window, the money stays with the app.

“Don’t try to solve for issues that are not your fault.”

  • A check with your location managerBefore anything is disputed, we ask the store what happened. Was the item in the bag? When did the courier pick up? Is there a camera still?
  • Disputes prepared for you to submitOrder number, item, the right reason and the evidence, written up so you can paste it in and submit from your own login.
  • Deadline trackingDoorDash gives you 14 days from delivery and Uber Eats 30 days from the order. We flag anything getting close.

  • Monday errors and disputes summaryA separate weekly email: what was charged, what was prepared, what you submitted, and what was won, lost or is still pending.
  • Errors in your monthly reportError rate, charges and recoveries sit next to sales, payout and reviews, so you see them in context.
  • A line back to the causeWhen the same item keeps getting charged, it goes to our error handling work: menu fixes, clearer descriptions and notes for your team.

HOW WE DO IT

How does our dispute process work?

Our day starts with the charges. Every error that comes in, we reach out to the location manager and find out whether the order needs to be disputed.

  1. Review every charge

We pull each new error charge across your apps and sort it: kitchen miss, courier issue, or a claim that looks off. Small charges and clear kitchen misses we let go. Disputing everything can get a store restricted, so we pick the ones worth winning.

  2. Confirm with your location manager

A short message to whoever was on shift. Was the drink in the bag? When was the order handed over? Is there a photo or a camera still? The answer decides whether a charge gets disputed.

  3. Prepare it for you to submit

We write up the dispute with the reason and the evidence, ready to paste into the app. A screenshot or a still, not a long video. You submit it from your login, inside the window.

  4. Track the result

Every dispute is tracked to won, lost or pending. You see it in the Monday summary and the monthly report, with the dollars that came back.

Blender Digital dispute process in six steps. 1, an error charge lands and we review it the same day. 2, we sort it: kitchen miss, courier issue or a claim that looks off. 3, we check with your location manager. 4, we prepare the dispute with reason, item and evidence. 5, you submit it from your own login, within 14 days on DoorDash or 30 days on Uber Eats. 6, we track it as won, lost or pending in the Monday summary and monthly report. Typical recovery is $200 to $1,200+ per location a month, depending on volume.
We do the review, the check-in and the prep. You make the final click.

WHAT WE TRACK

What do we track on errors and disputes?

The same numbers every week, so a bad week stands out and a fix that worked shows up.

Error rate

Error orders divided by total orders, by app. Under 2% is normal on Uber Eats.

Dollars charged

Everything the apps took back this week and this month.

Disputes prepared and submitted

What we wrote up, and what went in before the window closed.

Won, lost, pending

The outcome of each dispute and the dollars recovered.

Days left in the window

So nothing worth disputing ages out on day 15.

Repeat items and customers

Patterns that point to a menu problem or a problem account.

IN PRACTICE

What does this look like in practice?

ONE PLAN

Why not hire a dispute recovery service?

You can. Services like Dispute Dojo, Voosh, Loop and Deliverect’s Reclaim focus on recovering delivery chargebacks, mostly with software. Several price on results: Dispute Dojo describes performance-based recovery, and Deliverect says you only pay when you win. Voosh and Loop don’t publish prices. That’s a fair model for one job. The job just ends at the refund.

A separate dispute vendor

  • Recovers error charges, often automatically
  • Priced per win or by quote, on top of whoever runs your marketing
  • Another login, another report
  • Focused on getting money back, not on sales growth
  • The menu, campaigns and kitchen load behind the errors sit with someone else

One Blender Digital plan

  • Disputes, reviews, campaigns, ads, menus and platform reps in one plan
  • One monthly report, with errors next to sales and payout
  • Error patterns turn into menu and description fixes, so there are fewer charges next month
  • Focused on growing what you keep, not only what you get back
  • You submit from your own login, so you stay inside DoorDash’s terms

FAQ

Dispute management questions

Do you submit the disputes for us?

No. We review every error charge daily, confirm with your location manager, and prepare the disputes for you to submit. DoorDash’s help center says using third parties to submit error charge disputes goes against its terms, so the last step stays with you, from your own login. Everything before it is on us.

How much money can error charge disputes recover?

For the restaurants we manage, $200 to $1,200+ per location a month, depending on volume. Busier stores get more charges, so more of them are worth disputing. The other half is having fewer errors to begin with, which is why this sits next to our error handling work.

How long do I have to dispute a DoorDash or Uber Eats error charge?

On DoorDash, the delivery has to be within the last 14 days to dispute it in the Merchant Portal (DoorDash). On Uber Eats, you have 30 days from the order date, using the dispute button in the Orders tab of Uber Eats Manager (Uber Eats). The platforms change these rules, so we check them regularly.

Which error charges are worth disputing?

The ones that weren’t the kitchen’s fault: courier mix-ups, items that were handed over, late deliveries and temperature complaints. Also claims that look off, like a brand-new account saying everything was missing. We skip clear kitchen misses and very small charges. DoorDash says stores with a high volume of dispute attempts in a short time can be temporarily restricted from disputing, so we pick the ones you can win.

Is dispute management a separate fee?

No. It’s part of every Blender Digital plan, along with campaigns, ads, review replies and monthly reporting. The Starter plan starts at $1,030 a month on a 6-month program. See pricing.
